Day 3: Your favorite quote
This is such a difficult question to answer because I have so many favorite quotes. I love keeping quotes I find in books, tweets, interviews, etc. So I’m going to narrow it down to three.
1.) Do not stress over what you cannot control.
I’d say half of the quotes I have saved has this message as the underlying theme. You can’t control how other people behave or what they think. So, focus on yourself and what makes you happy. Spread love and joy.
2.) Reminders that it’s good to be confident and focus on self-care.
I think this gif set
I screenshotted of Amber Rose is a perfect example of defining your own version of beauty and confidence. She does what works for her. This kind of ties back into the first type of my favorite quotes. When you focus on improving yourself and being unbothered by negativity you can live your life to the fullest.
3. Be kind even when you feel like ripping someone’s throat out.
Lmao. It’s really not worth trying to fight someone physically or verbally. I’ve learned it’s better to let God and time deal with things. I’m no longer wasting my time and energy over someone who’s not going to change their mind or ways.
I’m not as familar with scripture as I should be
it’s a work in progress, but I do have daily quotes on my phone to read. I forgot when this exact quote popped up but when I first read it was shook. It’s difficult to be the ‘better’ person. But it’s not you doing them a favor, it’s doing yourself a favor. By letting things go (but taking the away lessons from the situation for the future) you’re moving on to better things. You’ll have less emotional baggage to carry.
And there’s tons of non scripture quotes similar to this biblical quote.
I hate it when people use the Bible to promote hate instead of love and life lessons to incorporate into one’s life. Just treat others the way you want to be treated but know when to walk away from a bad situation.
I hope y’all enjoyed today’s challenge. I think this had a good message and is a positive way to start off the work/school week. What’s some of your favorite quotes?
